Password Vault is an extremely powerful tool for securely managing your
passwords. Here are some of the most exciting features of Password Vault.
Powerful Password Management
You can keep your passwords organized by filing them into groups and by giving them
custom icons. Password Vault is a standalone Windows application, so it will not
install any ugly toolbars into your browser, like some competing products—more importantly, it will work with
any browser or application! Password Vault is compatible with Windows 98, Me,
2000, XP, Vista, and 7.
Serious Security
Your passwords are encrypted not only on your hard drive, but also in memory
while Password Vault is running. Password Vault protects your data using the
industry-standard Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm with a 256-bit
key. You can configure Password Vault to lock automatically after a time delay,
or you can lock it manually any time you wish. You can require that your
master password always be entered for certain operations, regardless of whether
Password Vault is unlocked or not. You can also mask the Password field to prevent passers-by from getting a peek at your passwords.
AutoComplete
Password Vault can fill your passwords in any web browser or application. It
works by sending keystrokes to the target window, just as if you had typed them
yourself. Setting up AutoComplete for your passwords is a snap with the
AutoComplete script builder (shown here). You can also AutoComplete your passwords using Copy & Paste
or Drag & Drop.
System Tray Operation
Password Vault minimizes to your system tray for easy access. While in this
mode, you can AutoComplete passwords, launch URLs, and perform key security
operations.
Random Password Generator
Password Vault ships with one of the most sophisticated password generators
available. You can specify password complexity rules as well as a list of characters
that aren't allowed. These are automatically remembered for the next time you
need to change your password.
Password Expiration Reminders
You can set up expiration dates for your passwords, and Password Vault will
periodically remind you when you have passwords that need to be changed.
Print Passwords
You can print your password list (either the entire list or just selected passwords)
directly from Password Vault for easy archiving or sharing.
