Using Wait AutoComplete

AutoComplete is a feature of Password Vault that fills in your password information on web sites and in applications, so you don't have to type it in manually. Wait AutoComplete works by sending keystrokes to the target window, just as if you had typed them yourself.

Wait AutoComplete gets its name from the fact that Password Vault will wait a specified number of seconds after you invoke the AutoComplete operation to start sending keystrokes to the target window. This time is for you to switch focus to the target window and put the cursor in the appropriate box.

Configuring Wait AutoComplete for a Password

  1. From the main Password Vault window, select the password for which you want to configure AutoComplete.

  6. Under the AutoComplete Builder section of the "Wait AutoComplete Settings" dialog box is where you will define the AutoComplete script order for this password. The script order is simply the order of password fields and keystrokes that will be sent to the target window. To figure out the appropriate script order, look at the target window.

For this web site, if you start with the cursor in the Username box, you will need a Username field, a TAB keystroke to move the cursor to the next field, a Password field, and an ENTER keystroke to "press" the Sign in button. Therefore, on the "Wait AutoComplete Settings" dialog box, press the following buttons in order:

    • Username button
    • <TAB> button
    • Password button
    • <ENTER> button

Tip: Since this is the default AutoComplete script, you can also press the Default button to quickly specify this order.
