Add your passwords

It's fast and easy to enter your data into Regex Password Vault. Create a new password for each account login you want to remember. You only need to provide the following:

• Username and password
• A description (name) for the account

The following fields are also available:

• URL (web address) of the website or login page
• Email address
• Custom fields (up to 4)
• Notes

If you already have your passwords in a spreadsheet or another password manager, you can import them into Password Vault using a variety of file formats.

Automatically log in to websites and programs

Forget typing in your usernames and passwords manually. Regex Password Vault can log you into any website or program with a single click or keystroke. You can AutoComplete a password using whichever method you prefer:

• Type the shortcut key Ctrl + Shift + M directly in the web browser or program you are using (you can change the key combination if needed)
• Use the notification area (system tray) menu
• Drag individual fields from the main Password Vault window
• Copy individual fields to the Clipboard

Once you've used AutoComplete, you'll never want to log in manually again!

Fill web forms automatically

Now filling out long web forms is as easy as AutoCompleting a password! With a single click or keystroke, you can fill web forms with personal information such as your name, postal and email addresses, telephone numbers, credit card information, and more. All your personal details are stored securely along with your passwords in your Vault file.

Note: Web forms can be filled in Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8, 9; Mozilla Firefox 3 and later; and Google Chrome 7 and later.

• Password Vault automatically locks after a time delay, or anytime your computer is locked. You can also lock Password Vault manually at any time.

Create secure random passwords

Regex Password Vault includes a powerful password generator to enable you to easily create random passwords. Random passwords are impossible to guess, which makes them much more secure than passwords that you memorize. You should use random passwords for all your accounts, and leave it to Password Vault to remember them for you!

To generate a random password, simply specify the following password rules:

• Password length
• Character types (uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, special characters, custom)
• Minimum numbers of each character type

More password features

• Password expiration dates
  If you have passwords that must be changed at regular intervals, you can give them expiration dates. Then Regex Password Vault will remind you when it's time to change those passwords.
• File attachments
  You can attach files—such as documents, images, or certificates—to your passwords. Attachments are automatically encrypted and embedded in your Vault file. This feature could really come in handy if you need to quickly encrypt files without dedicated encryption software.

Stay organized

• Custom icons
  Customize your passwords and identities by changing their icons. You can choose from the large collection of built-in icons, or use any image file on your computer or an icon embedded in any EXE or DLL file. You can even allow Regex Password Vault to automatically get website icons for your passwords when available.
• Sorting
  Your passwords and identities are sorted automatically.
• Groups
  If you are the highly-organized type, you can file your passwords and identities into groups such as "Email Accounts" or "Commonly-Used Passwords". Groups are analogous to folders on your hard drive.
• Search functionality
  Instant search and an advanced dialog-based search function are available to help you find existing passwords and identities in your Vault file.

Multi-user support

If you are in a business environment and have certain accounts that are accessed by multiple people, you can share those passwords using Regex Password Vault. Users who have access to shared records can view and AutoComplete them, as well as make changes of their own. Users will only have access to passwords if they have been explicitly given permissions; all other passwords are kept private.

Automatic backups

Regex Password Vault automatically makes a backup of your Vault file every time you save it. Backups can be saved on a network drive, removable drive, or in a folder on your hard drive.
